Meet Emily
Hello there!
My name is Emily McNamara. I’m excited you’re here and I hope you’re interested in working together to create lasting change!
I like to say I’m a Jill of all Trades, and expert of none! I love to puzzle over the “why” & often look to our food, plants, environment, emotions & movement for answers. If you like to talk about food, you’ll find I do too!
My path to Functional Nutritional Therapy & holistic wellness is a winding one!
I majored in Business Administration & minored in Eco- Gastronomy at the University of New Hampshire, where I was lucky enough to be able to create a self-designed option- Agro-Food Venture Creation. It was here I tied together my interests and background in farming with, what some might consider, the more “refined’ pursuits of hospitality & sustainable agriculture.
Ever a student, I’ve completed several certificate programs after college. One of my first forays was a 9 month herbal apprenticeship series offered by Mischa Schuler of Wild Carrot Herbs in Portland, ME. In 2020, I completed a 9 month program offered by the Nutritional Therapy Association in Functional Nutritional Therapy, led by instructors Meredith Kinsel-Ziter & Jordan Schmidt.
In 2023 I had the pleasure of completing a Reiki I certification program offered by Linda Carley & most recently, this past winter, attended a virtual Medical Intuition Mastery Course offered by Jennifer Lisa Vest.
My current roles are varied! I continue to be a student at Edgewater Farm in Plainfield, NH where, despite having worked there over 10 years, I’ve only just begun to learn the latin names of plants, and master the art of sourdough & the fastest way to peel a garlic bulb.
I’m grateful for my autumns and winters spent continuing my energetic education at Green Hope Farm, where I continue to be inspired to learn more about energy medicine and the energetic nature of the world around us.
As I begin to re-wet my feet in the world of nutritional therapy, I’m especially grateful for my most recent work with mothers at Gentle Landing Midwifery- sharing ways to incorporate more nutrients & nutrient dense whole foods into diets for healthy families!
